Libya has been in violation of the International Humanitarian Law ever since the al-Qaddafi Era, and it doesn't look like things are changing fast enough. According to reports by www.amnesty.org, the nation has allowed their civilians to be attacked directly, forcing thousands to become internally and externally displaced, from their home and lifestyle. This is a humanitarian crisis. The Issue All sides of this game of war are responsible for this inhumane act of barbaric violence amongst the innocent. Their vicious crimes on the art of war have led to hundreds of thousands of citizens being cut of their access to food, healthcare and education, as their essential resources are stripped away causing many struggling to support their families. A report from April of 2016 by the World Health Organization, states that by June, almost 60% pf public hospitals in areas of conflict will have been shut down, as Libya's health care system has virtually collapsed. Later in October of 2016, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, estimates suggest that 1.3 million people across Libya were in need of humanitarian assistance.
Not only do the people of Libya have to suffer the consequences of unlawful conflicts, they also face the risk of being abducted and detained on account of their origin, opinions, and perceived political affiliations. Armed gangs and groups across Libya have committed multiple crimes amongst the pure need of money, as they set the victims up for ransom. These groups have also been known to kill, unlawfully, of captured fighters and civilians who were perceived of being the opposition to their political beliefs. The International Criminal Court is committed to prioritize its investigations in 2017, into ongoing crimes in Libya, however, the ICC has initiated no new investigations in 2016, due to quote "security concerns and insufficient resources". Even as human rights defenders, political and other activists, and journalists, attempt to aid in the struggle, armed groups and militias continue to harass, abduct, torture, and kill them. But despite that, hope is still going to prevail and help the Libyan community.
